Dillon (Robert Crawford).- The Noble Reply of the Clerkenwell Committee of Ladies! To the dastardly attacks made on the character of Reverend Dr. Dillon, creasing, some fraying to fore-margin, tear across final f., Printed and published by E. Mason, [c.1840] bound after [Dillon (Rev. Robert Crawford)] The Lord Mayor's Visit to Oxford, in the month of July, 1826, 2 engraved plates, ink ownership inscription "J. Hughes, Donnington Priory, 1840" to head of title, 1826, together 2 works in 1 vol., 2pp. autograph notes to front free endpaper, bookplate of Margaret E. Hughes, Donnington Priory to front pastedown, 19th century half calf, rubbed, 8vo.

⁂ A seemingly unrecorded pamphlet in defense of the notorious Rev. Dillon who first achieved notoriety with the publication of his account of the Lord Mayor's visit to Oxford (the edition of which he later attempted to buy up and destroy). A near-contemporary account of Dillon's later life is given by Hughes on the front free endpapers.
