⁂ Influenced by the art and ideals of William Morris the Birmingham Guild of Handicraft was formed in the 1890s by students at the art school, becoming the centre of the Arts and Crafts Movement. The magazine contains contributions by most members of the Guild including Joseph Southall, Mary Nevill, Arthur Gaskin, Georgie Gaskin, Henry Payne, Charles Gere, Sidney Meteyard, Bernard Sleigh, Edith Gere, Margaret Gere, Ernest Treglown, Celia Levetus and Edmund New. No.4 begins with an article by William Morris on Kelmscott Manor, with illustrations by Edmund New.
