⁂ Two first editions of Leonico's important Latin translations of Aristotle, including the Quaestiones Mechanicae which became the text's most popular version during the 16th century. Born in Venice into a Greek family, Leonico pioneered the study of Aristotle in the original Greek as lecturer at Padua University from 1497(where he had a number of English students, among them Reginald Pole).
