18 century merchant shipping.- Indenture by Peter Pigou, gentleman of Farnham, Surrey, to James Farquharson of Gough Square, merchant of London, Pigou's share of the profits of a voyage of the ship Elisabeth from Pondicherry, India, D.s. "Peter Pigou" and others, manuscript in English and French, 4pp., red wax seal (cracked), folds, slightly browned, folio, 12th February 1780.
⁂ Pigou was indebted to Farquharson for an advance of £1200, due for repayment on 13 March 1780, with interest; this agreement of his share was with the proviso that if the bond was paid on time, this agreement would become void - probably this agreement was drawn up as repayment was considered unlikely.
