⁂ Lester Gaba was a proficient soap sculptor who created "Gaba Girls", life-sized, carved-soap mannequins modelled after well-known New York debutantes for the windows of Best & Co., thereby revolutionising window dressing. His public appearances with one of his mannequins, "Cynthia", made him a pioneer of performance art.
