⁂ Both concerning the uses of chemistry as applied to the arts. The first is the standard work on varnishes; the second discusses the formulation of paints, pigments, and synthetic dyes. Sobrero is best known as the discoverer of nitroglycerine, Alfred Nobel was one of his students.
