⁂ Rare extract from Charles Hutton's Mathematical Recreations, itself a translation of Ozanam's Recreations Mathematiques et Physiques. The game concerns the number of designs that can be created by the arrangement of squares each divided diagonally into two sections. Eight plates depict 62 examples of various designs with another four of blank squares to be filled in by players. Library Hub cites only the BL copy of this edition, with a further 3 copies of the "improved" 1818 edition by Edlin.
