⁂ Scarce ladies’ pastime book with instructions for the construction of objects in paper by a Swedish officer also known as Fredrik Carl Boye. Having served in the army his earliest publications reflect his military interests but he later became well known as an artist and writer. He had begun to engrave fashion drawings at least as early as 1815 and was interested in the new invention of lithography, which he seems to have introduced into Sweden. In 1818 he published the first fashion magazine in Sweden, Konst- och nyhetsmagasin för medborgare af alla klasser (Art and News Magazine for citizens of all classes), later Magasin för konst, nyheter och moder (Magazine for art, news and more).
