⁂ A rare pamphlet in memory of Irish Nationalist Michael O'Callaghan (1879-1921).
O'Callaghan had a strong interest in Irish culture, learning Irish from nationalist George Clancy and campaigned for de Valera in 1917. He was elected major of Limerick in January 1920 following Sinn Fein's victory in urban local elections. He was killed by a British intelligence agent in March 1921. He was one of three Limerick men murdered in their homes that night, along with Mayor George Clancy and Volunteer Joseph O’Donoghue. Their killings were known as the Limerick Curfew Murders.
Printed for O'Callaghan's widow. Scarce at auction.
