The Heart of the Antarctic, 2 vol., first trade edition, half-titles, photogravure frontispieces, 12 colour plates with captioned tissue-guards, numerous photographic plates, a few double-page, illustrations, 3 folding maps and folding panorama in pocket at end vol. 2, 4pp. Order Form for the work loosely inserted, bookplate of Richard Campbell, ownership inscription "A.T. Barrett, Stoke Poges Vicarage" to front free endpapers, folding maps with one or two short splits along folds without loss, panorama creased at foot and with couple small holes to lower-margin, some very light toning to plate margins, some foxing, heavier towards end vol. 2, original pictorial cloth blocked in silver, rebacked preserving faded original backstrips, few small marks, wear to corners, rubbed and faded, particularly to vol. 2, large 8vo, William Heinemann, 1909.
