⁂ The former is a landmark history of Armenia, initially published in 1786 in 3 volumes and abridged by Chamich in 1811. It was translated for the first time into English by Armenian scholar Johannes Avdall in Calcutta, where the Armenian community played an important part in colonial India's commerce and civic life.
