⁂ Second edition of one of the most important sixteenth-century emblem books. Renowned for its fine woodcuts including emblems for many of the most notable names of the day, largely French and Italian nobles and royals, accpompanied by four-line verse descriptions by Simeoni, replacing Giovio's original prose text.
