⁂ Nobel Prize winner Patrick Blackett's copy of this significant work on the debate of nuclear disarmament by Jules Moch with an introduction by Albert Einstein. Blackett was the first person to prove that radioactivity could cause the nuclear transmutation of one chemical to another and made major contributions to the Allied war effort during World War II. After the war he was a strong opponent to Britain's military use of atomic energy and became a key advisor on Labour science policy. By the 1970s he was a controversial figure, to the point that the Times obituary referred to him as the "Radical Nobel-Prize Winning Physicist".
