Tripp (Charles B., artist and sideshow performer, 1855-1930) Portrait cabinet card, showing Tripp cutting paper with scissors with his feet, mount with photographer's imprint "Morris, 16 Sixth Street Pittsburgh" to foot, signed by Tripp "Charles B. Tripp. Woodstock Ontario, Age 30 y's" to mount verso, few small stains, light dust-soiling, 165 x 104mm., [c.1885]; and a small cabinet card photograph showing the wedding of Charles Stratton (stage name 'General Tom Thumb') to Lavinia Warren, v.s. (2)

⁂ Tripp was born without arms, but learned to use his legs and feet to perform everyday tasks. He became a skilled carpenter and calligrapher, exhibiting his skills in various touring fairs. For extra income, he signed promotional pictures of himself, such as this, with his feet.
