Corrected by Harington.- Ariosto (Lodovico) Orlando furioso in English heroical verse, by Iohn Haringto[n], first edition in English, double column, 46 engraved full-page illustrations after Girolamo Porro's series of illustrations for Franceschi's 1584 edition, 'The argument' at opening of each book within woodcut cartouche, woodcut decorative initials, final f. with woodcut printer's device and colophon recto otherwise blank, autograph correction by Harington to K4v (?and elsewhere), contemporary and later ink marginalia and ownership inscriptions, lacking title, tears and repairs, occasionally affecting text or image (see in particular Bb3), trimmed at head, a few instances of marginal loss (see in particular Gg4), spotting and staining, lightly browned, 18th century speckled calf, gilt spine in compartments and with worn red morocco label, upper cover all but detached, worn, [Pforzheimer 447; STC 746; ESTC S106637], small folio, By Richard Field dwelling in the Black-friers by Ludgate, 1591.
