Slavery.- Frost (Quintin) The Harper, and other poems, first edition, contemporary American ink inscriptions to head of title and occasional pencil annotations, including verse to p.89, ?lacking half-title, spotting and staining, lightly browned, modern calf-backed marbled boards, small 8vo, C. Whittingham for for Longman, Hurst, Rees, and Orme, 1806.

⁂ Scarce. Includes 'The negro to his wife', which is the tale of a man who married an English woman and was later captured to be sold as a slave. He commits suicide on the voyage, and the poem is his farewell 'letter' to his wife.

Provenance: 'Lyman H. Warren, Augusta' (ink inscription to head of title); 'Elizabeth', who had gifted the volume (her annotations, some signed).
