Leitch (William Leighton, landscape painter and drawing-master, 1804-83) Part Autograph Letter signed to Dr Horace Dobell, 6pp. and 5 small watercolour sketches, n.p., n.d., [between 1875 and 1877], giving advice on painting, "Miss Dobells drawings like the generality of beginners drawings were wanting in quality," and sending examples for her to copy, "These little examples ought to be copied over & over to make the pupil familiar with general treatment... never forget that over this cottage or castle or group of trees, mountains, rock or green field there must be the air and there must be the light of the sun", folds; and a watercolour of a cliff by the sea, mounted, 227 x 340mm., ink inscription on verso: "From Mr Leitch Sept 1876", v.s., v.d. (4 pieces).
