Berain, engraved title and 36 plates only, including divisional title to "Desseins de Cheminées", first title with drawings in pencil and red pencil to upper-margin, few small marginal ink notes in an early hand, occasional small staining, some light soiling, little browned, bookplate of Luton Library, ex-Royal College of Art Library with bookplate and embossed stamp to first title lower-margin, later half calf, sticker to spine foot, rubbed and worn, folio, [Paris], et se vendent chez Monsieur Thuret, aux galleries du Louvre, [c.1711].

⁂ Plates of various ornaments of interior decoration by Bérain, the premier designer and decorator in the age of Louis XIV. Complete copies appear to contain up to 144 plates, although the plate count varies considerably.
