Donoso (José) A Collection of Letters of José Donoso to his British editor, 6 Typed Letters and 2 Autograph Postcards signed by José Donoso, on the state of Chile under Pinochet, his thoughts on the Latin American Boom in literature, family matters and editing minutiae, together with autograph letter signed by Donoso's wife, Maria Pilar, giving details of "Pepe's" progress on his new book "Charleston and Other Stories" and supplying the names and addresses of authors (Carlos Fuentes and Mario Vargas Llosa) who might be solicited for blurbs, and other letters by Donoso, and related newspaper cuttings, a little creased, loose sheets, v.s., 1975-87 (21).

⁂ José Donoso, a Chilean novelist and short story writer (1924-1996), was an important figure in the Latin American literary movement of the 1960s and 70s. His writing was characterised by surrealism, black comedy and social satire.
