Forster (E.M.) A Passage to India, first edition, Autograph Card signed by the author discussing the British conduct in India laid onto a loose leaf from another edition and loosely inserted, foxing, Blackwells and W.H.Smiths labels to pastedowns, original cloth, light fading to spine, spine tips and corners rubbed and a little bumped, an excellent example, facsimile dust-jacket, [Kirkpatrick A10a], Edward Arnold & Co., 1924; and 5 others by or about the same, 8vo (6)

⁂ A good note from the author, referencing the 1960 theatrical adaptation of the novel and commenting "Though (except perhaps at Amritsar) I don't think there is any close resemblance between the conduct of the British in India and the Dutch in S.A.". The recipient's note in pencil provides some context: "Not what I said! I said Kenya - J.F.A."
