Dickens (Charles) A Christmas Carol. In Prose. Being a Ghost Story for Christmas, 4 etched plates with hand-colouring by John Leech and 4 plain vignettes after Leech, advertisement f. at end, ruled in red throughout, ownership inscription "Margaret A. Christie, Christmas 1873" to head of title, light browning to half-title and verso of final f., the odd patch of light soiling, modern red morocco, gilt, spine with raised bands, upper cover with circular inlay of original decorative cloth upper cover within gilt-tooled border, light scuff to foot of upper cover, t.e.g., 8vo, Chapman & Hall, [c.1873].

⁂ A rare and attractive larger-format edition, each leaf measuring c.193 x 120mm.
