Description

Italy.- Müller (Rudolf, Swiss artist, 1802-1865) Neapolitan landscape with Castellammare di Stabia in the distance, watercolour over traces of pencil, heightened with gum arabic, bears signature 'Muller' in the lower centre, on wove paper without watermark, sheet 156 x 220 mm (6 1/8 x 8 5/8 in), tipped at edges into window-style album leave mount, ruled black ink border line, unframed, [circa 1850]

⁂ Müller travelled extensively in the Mediterranean and Middle East accompanied by his friend and compatriot Friedrich Horner (1800-1864).
