Ravilious (Eric).- Bliss (Douglas Percy) & A.E. Chistopherson, editors. The Gallimaufry: A New Magazine of the Students of the R.C.A. which will appear for this once only, illustrations by Eric Ravilious (Greenwood G.0180, Edward Bawden, Enid Marx, Bliss and others, some hand-coloured including 3 by Bawden, a couple printed in green, two centre leaves loose, original pictorial wrappers by Ravilious with hand-colouring, 1925 § Dunbar (Cecilia A. Dunbar Kilburn) The Mandrake: A Magazine of the Students of the Royal College of Art...the whole put together in May, MCMXXVI, the Month and Year of the Great General Strike, one of 200 copies, title in red & black with illustration by Ravilious (G.054), other illustrations by Ravilious, Bawden and others, some with hand-colouring, original pictorial wrappers by Bawden with hand-colouring, 1926, both lightly spotted, staples rusted, wrappers a little browned and soiled, creased and frayed at edges, the first lacking top outer corner from upper cover (loosely inserted), the second with staining to lower cover; and issues Nos. VI-VIII of Royal College of Art Students' Magazine 1923-24 (No. VII without printed wrapper) and Nos. 10, 13 & 18 of Artwork quarterly magazine, all with illustrations by Ravilious and some by Bawden and Eric Gill, 4to & 8vo (8)

⁂ Ravilious met Bawden at the Design School of the Royal College of Art where they studied under Paul Nash.

P.31 of The Mandrake features one of Ravilious's earliest wood-engravings, 'Plants in a Drum' from 1923 (G.003).
