⁂ Combined calendar and type specimen, originally issued in 1933 as a set of 12 sheets of which Greenwood states that only 2 sets have survived (one split between two private collections and the other at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge). The alphabet blocks also appeared in The Print User's Year Book 1934 printed in blue and black. The calendar was then reissued for 1954, as in the present set, using all but one of the original blocks with the type more varied and using the engraving 'Orion' from the 1929 Almanack for January as the original engraving featured the date 1933. According to Greenwood only one set of this reissue has survived (probably this copy).
