⁂ The frontispiece of A Description of the Pastoral Staff depicts the interior of the choir of the Cathedral of All Saints in Albany, New York. The surrounding and opposing borders feature representations of Jesus and the Evangelists, scenes from the life of Christ, and the arms of the City and Diocese of Albany. The photogravures were created from photographs by Dr. Chester A. Lawrence and are rendered to exact scale relative to one another.
