April 1863" to front free endpaper, contemporary calf, rebacked, later endpapers, rubbed, extremities chipped and worn, [Schreiber 289], folio, Geneva, sumptibus Caldorianae societatis, 1606.

⁂ First edition of the most extensive work of its time on classical, Alexandrian and Byzantine epics. "Although the colophon clearly attributes the printing of the volume to Pierre de la Roviere, this may have been executed at the Estienne Press, or, at least, with the Estienne typographical material" - Schreiber.
