The English Spy, 2 vol., first issue with plate 28 dated "1284", hand-coloured engraved frontispiece and 70 hand-coloured aquatint plates after Robert Cruikshank, Thomas Rowlandson and others, one wood-engraved plate after Cruikshank, wood-engraved vignettes, light offsetting from plates, occasional light surface staining, bookplate to front pastedowns, [Abbey, Life 325; Tooley 504], 1825-26 § Carey (David) Life in Paris, title vignette, hand-coloured aquatint frontispiece and 20 plates (tightly bound, slightly obscuring captions), wood-engraved illustrations, with rare Directions to Binder at end, lacking half-title, very occasional light offsetting and toning, [Abbey, Travel 112; Tooley 129], 1822, first editions,1 or 2 short tears, occasional light foxing, attractive modern red straight-grain morocco, gilt, corners and spine ends very lightly rubbed, 8vo (3)
