Dictionary.- Minsheu (John) Emendatio...The Guide into the Tongues...in these nine Languages, viz. 1. English. 2. Low Dutch. 3. High Dutch. 4. French. 5. Italian. 6. Spanish. 7. Latine. 8. Greeke. 9. Hebrew, &c, second edition, double-column, title within typographic border, woodcut initials and head-pieces, title with tear into imprint repaired without loss, F1&2 with small burn-holes affecting few letters, Y3v small silked repair affecting couple letters, final few ff. with some light creasing and worming within text, some foxing and browning, contemporary panelled calf, neatly rebacked and recornered, red morocco spine label, endpapers renewed, [STC 17947], folio, John Haviland, 1627.

Provenance: Jacob Astley, 1st Baron Astley of Reading (1579-1652, Royalist commander in the English Civil War, ownership inscription "Jacob: Astley his booke -" to front free endpaper); William Bell 1657 (ownership inscription to rear free endpaper).
