⁂ Contains "A Dissertation upon the Sacred Cubitt of the Jews and the Cubits of several Nations: in which, from the Dimensions of the Greatest Pyramid, as taken by Mr. John Greaves, the ancient Cubit of Memphis is determined. Translated from the Latin of Sir Isaac Newton, not yet published". Newton thought that the measurement of the Egyptian cubit, as revealed by the proportions of the Great Pyramid, would help to determine the accurate circumference of the earth on which his theory of gravity depended.
The work also includes Greaves's Pyramidographia, the first book on English on the Pyramids.
