[Bolton (Edmund)] Nero Caesar or Monarchie Depraved. An Historicall Worke, first edition, variant with 2 additional quires at end, with initial leaf 'The Arguments...', engraved additional title (dated 1623), engraved numismatic illustrations, initial leaf a little stained, engraved title with short tear to upper edge slightly extending into image, letterpress title lightly soiled, some browning, contemporary panelled calf, spine gilt, rubbed, spine ends worn, upper cover detached, [STC 3221], folio, T.S. for Thomas Walkley, 1624.

⁂ Bolton's history of Nero and early Roman Britain with much referencing to contemporary events. An apparently unsuccessful attempt to gain royal patronage.
