Description

Bell (Robert, editor) Rerum Hispanicarum scriptores aliquot..., 3 vol. in 2, first edition of vol.1 & 2, titles with woodcut printer's device (repeated on verso of final leaf of vol.2 & 3), woodcut head-pieces and initials, a few spots, occasional soiling or staining but generally clean, paper flaw tear to v6 in vol.1 affecting a couple of letters, contemporary panelled calf, rather rubbed and scuffed, [VD 16 R1163-1165], folio, Frankfurt, Andreas Wechel, 1579-81.

⁂ Scarce compilation of Spanish chronicles, often found without the third volume De rebus gestis a Francisco Ximenio Cisnerio by Alvaro Gomez de Castro, which was first published in 1569 in Spain and issued as a third volume to Bell's work in 1581.
