Description

Terentius Afer (Publius) [Comoediae] In singulas scenas argumenta, fere ex Aelii Donati commentariis transcripta. Versuum genera per Erasmum Roterodamum, Italic type, title with woodcut printer's device, final blank excised, title soiled and with contemporary ink inscription crossed out and author's name at head torn away, small stains to margins of a couple of leaves, later sprinkled calf, rubbed, upper joint cracked, slight wear to spine ends, 8vo, Paris, Robert Estienne, 1551.

⁂ An attractive copy of a scarce Estienne edition.

Provenance: Macclesfield copy with small embossed stamp to title and following couple of leaves and North Library bookplate
