Nostradame (César de) L'Histoire et Chronique de Provence, first edition, fine engraved allegorical title, engraved portrait, woodcut head-pieces, initials, illustrations and coats-of-arms, lacking a3 & 4 from preliminaries, title creased and slightly wormed but barely affecting image, slight worming to text, mostly marginal, occasional browning, large engraved armorial bookplate of Nicolai Joseph Foucault, contemporary calf, spine gilt, rubbed, spine ends worn, Lyons, Simon Rigaud, 1614 § [Menestrier (Claude François) Histoire Civile ou Consulaire de la Ville de Lyon], first edition, with half-title but lacking title, with fine large folding engraved map by Tardieu but 4 engraved plates only (of 5, lacking plate of clock as often), 3 folding, folding letterpress table, engraved or woodcut head-pieces, initials and illustrations, one full-page, occasional light browning, one or two spots, a couple of marginal tears, contemporary calf, Nicolas-Joseph Foucault's copy with his gilt arms to covers and large engraved armorial bookplate, spine gilt, rubbed, [Lyons, Jean-Baptiste & Nicolas de Ville], [1696], folio; sold not subject to return (2)

⁂ The first is a history of Provence by the son of Nostradamus; the second is an account of the city of Lyons up until 1400, of which the remaining two planned volumes never appeared.
