Poe (Edgar Allan) Eureka: A Prose Poem, first edition, ?second issue with review of "Eureka" on p.2 of the 12pp. advertisements at end, a few small stains or spots, light toning, water-staining to margins, original blind-stamped brown cloth, spine lettered in gilt, chipping with loss to spine ends, splitting to joints, 2 small stains to lower cover, rubbing to extremities, housed in modern black drop-back box, red morocco label to spine, [BAL 16153 (Binding B)], 8vo, New York, Geo. P. Putnam, 1848.

⁂ The last work published by Poe during his lifetime, believed to be one of 500 copies. 'Eureka' was based on his lecture 'On the Cosmography of the Universe', where he explored an evolving Newtonian model of the Universe, making his poem a unique combination of science and art.
