[Poe (Edgar Allan)], "Quarles". The Raven [&] Some Words with Mummy, in The American Review: A Whig Journal, vol. 1. no.1-6, p.143-145 & p.363-370 respectively, 3 plates, lacking 12pp. publisher's advertisements, index and 1 plate loose, some foxing or staining, heaviest to first and last few ff., later purple cloth, spine lettered in gilt and browned, bumping to spine ends, a few short tears to head of spine, a little rubbed to extremities, 8vo, New York, Wiley and Putnam, 1845.

⁂ One of the earliest appearances of 'The Raven' and first appearance of 'Some Words with Mummy'. 'The Raven' first printed under Poe's pseudonym 'Quarles' is one of his most notable works and a staple of gothic literature.
