⁂ George Grey Turner (1877-1951), English surgeon, best known for performing one of the earliest operations to attempt the removal of a bullet from a soldier's heart. The bullet was never removed, but Grey Turner's surgery saved the patient's life. His son Elston was a doctor who served in WWII, and was on the staff of the BMA for many years.
