Calligraphic manuscript.- Sweet (Eric) The Craft of Gilding: Materials and History, calligraphic manuscript, on vellum supplied by Band's of Brentford, 66ff., written in black ink with some gold decoration (gold supplied by Whiley's of Ruislip), numerous initials sketched in pencil and unfinished, ink ownership inscription by Eric Sweet on front pastedown, original dark red goatskin supplied by Russell's of Hitchin, tooled in gilt, preserved in cloth slip-case with pull-off spine, 25th May 1953; and a folder of notes on bookbinding, folio & 4to (2)
⁂ According to the colophon at end this was "Written, illuminated and bound during the three terms of the Art Teacher's Certificate Course 1952-1953. Completed this 25th day of May 1953".
