Bewick (Thomas).- Goldsmith (Oliver, attributed to) A Pretty Book of Pictures for Little Masters and Misses, or, Tommy Trip's History of Beasts and Birds..., fifteenth edition, one of only 2 copies printed on vellum, from an edition limited to 250, 77 wood-engravings by Bewick on india paper and mounted, frontispiece and title with decorative border in red, with additional portrait of Bewick, a mounted photograph of the publisher Edwin Pearson, mounted photograph of the frontispiece & title of the original edition and 2 mounted photographs of notes by J.Bell relating to that edition, very occasional marginal soiling, bookplate of Richard Lawrence Pemberton, contemporary red straight-grain morocco-backed marbled cloth, spine gilt, t.e.g., preserved in modern cloth drop-back box, [cf.Tattersfield TB 2.507, note], 4to, Edwin Pearson, 1867.
⁂ The wood-engravings are printed from the original blocks used for the original edition published by Thomas Saint in Newcastle in 1779.
