Paradin (Claude) Devises Heroiques et Emblemes..., second edition, [iv], 340, [3], engraved allegorical title and 174 engraved emblems (after the original woodcuts by Bernard Salomon) in text, 3pp. privilege and final blank at end, title with old ink inscription to head and old oval library stamp (chipped at fore-edge), [Landwehr, Romanic 572], 1621 bound with Amboise (Adrian d') Discours ou Traicté des Devises..., 1620; Devises Royales, engraved allegorical title and 13 emblems, 1621, together 3 works in 1 vol., a couple of small ink stains, engraved pictorial bookplate, modern red morocco, spine titled in gilt with five raised bands, Paris, Rolet Boutonne; Symbola heroica, title with woodcut printer's device, numerous woodcut emblematic illustrations, contemporary ink inscription to head of title (mostly cropped), occasional soiling, modern half tan morocco over pictorial boards drawn in pen & ink, preserved in modern cloth drop-back box, [Landwehr 604], Antwerp, Christopher Plantin, 1567, 8vo et infra (2)
