⁂ Rare. While essentially a group of testimonials for Francis' lifeboats, it nevertheless provides a great deal of information on contemporary shipwrecks and rescues. The plate depicts the rescue of 201 crew of the Scottish ship Ayrshire by 'Metallic Life Car' off the coast of New Jersey in 1850.
