⁂ An appetizing group of works relating to a very Parisian tradition of gourmands and gastronomy. The first mentioned is a number from from a longer series which features the "first-ever restaurant reviews" (Willan, p. 259) by one of the founding fathers of gastronomy, anticipating the likes of Baedeker and Michelin.
