Description

Innes (Michael) A Collection of 28 John Appleby Books, first editions, one signed by the author and others attending a party, original cloth, all but 2 with dust-jackets, mostly excellent, some early ones browned and slightly rubbed, 8vo, 1937.

⁂ An excellent run of Innes' Appleby books, with those completing the series offered in preceding lots. Hamlet, Revenge! is slightly more rubbed and splitting down spine, and the cloth of The Secret Vanguard is a little rubbed, one lacking portion of spine. The last in the sequence, Appleby and the Ospreys, is the author's copy, signed by himself and all attending the publication launch party, including Julian Symons, Lettice Cooper, Jan Morris, Olivia Gollancz, John Murray, and others.
