Description

Johannes de Sancto Geminiano. Liber de exemplis ac similitudinibus rerum, collation: AA10 a-z8 &8 [con]8 [rum]8 A-X8 Y10, double column, 395 ff. (of 396, lacking AA1 title), 48 lines and headline, Gothic type, woodcut initials (some white-on-black), initial spaces with guide-letters, large woodcut printer's device to final verso, facsimile title loosely inserted, a1 initial with red hand-colouring, old ink notes to endpapers and one or two leaves, some very small worming to first few ff. and X7 to end, mainly marginal but small worm traces within text of final few ff., occasional staining to margins, light browning, trimmed close at head but no apparent loss, later vellum, some repairs and restoration, old ink inscriptions to upper cover and spine, quite soiled with staining to lower cover, endpapers preserved and mounted on stubs (stained), pastedowns repaired, small 4to (172 x 120mm.), Venice, Johannes and Gregorius de Gregoriis, 12 July, 1499.
