[The Christopher Robin books], 4 vol., comprising When We Were Very Young, reprint, 1955; Winnie-the-Pooh, reprint, spine faded, 1955; Now We Are Six, reprint, dust-jacket laid-down with tape at pastedowns, extremities chipped, 1955; The House at Pooh Corner, reprint, 1955, pictorial endpapers, extremities lightly rubbed, light spotting to edges, all signed by the author on half-titles, 8vo, 1955.
*** A touching association copy of this set of Milne's classic works, signed and given to his nurse while she was caring for him at his home, Cotchford Farm in Hartfield, East Sussex in 1955. Milne had suffered from a stroke in 1952 and was confined to a wheelchair until his death on 31st January 1956. Very likely to be the final signatures of Milne.
Provenance: by descent of the family.
