V and early X, but without loss of sense, some foxing and staining, lightly browned, later endpapers, recased in contemporary vellum over boards, later ink and blue pencil title and imprint to spine, a few small worm holes, rubbed, 8vo (156 x 98mm.), Venice, [Sons of Aldus], 1547.

*** Rare copy at auction of the best edition of this translation into Italian of Caesar's commentary on his military campaigns in Gaul, Spain, Africa, and Egypt, and Rome's civil wars. The translator was a poet from Genoa.
