Auctior, collation: A4, woodcut Plantin device to title, woodcut head- and tail-piece and decorative initial, Paris, Adrien Périer for the House of Plantin, 1604, together 2 works in 1 vol., blind-stamps at beginning and end, some marginal staining, contemporary limp vellum, lacking ties, little stained, small 4to (231 x 156mm.)

I: First edition of the first bibliography of Florentine writers and indeed one of the first regional bibliographies.

Literature: Adams P1677; EDIT 16 CNCE 28808.

II: Rare first separate edition of the life of the Greek scholar Ciriaco Strozzi.

Provenance: Zaccaria Monti, author of the second work and nephew of its subject (autograph marginalia and notes on two leaves bound between Poccianti's Catalogus and the Vita Kyriaci Strozae); 'Moreau Mod. Paris' (17th century ink ownership inscription to first title); Theological Institute of Connecticut, East Windsor Hill (now defunct; blind stamps on the first and last three leaves).
