Ardbeg, Single Malt Galileo 12 Year Old, Islay, 1999
49% abv. Distilled in 1999, bottled in 2012. Excellent level and appearance, cardboard presentation box slightly scuffed on side. Matured in ex-Bourbon barrels and ex-Marsala casks, this Single Malt displays a deep, golden colour and a rich, smoky flavour. Non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength, this bottling is a limited edition produced to celebrate a scientific experiment when, in 2011, molecules of Ardbeg were sent to the International Space Station to study maturation in zero gravity.
This lot forms part of an extensive whisky collection acquired a decade ago through retailers and wholesalers across the UK by a true whisky aficionado.
