Johnson, 1792.

⁂ A visual record of the buildings, mostly country houses in the environs of Birmingham, which were attacked during the "Priestley Riots" which took place between 14th and 17th July, 1791. Most were burnt and many of the contents looted or destroyed - the targets being properties belonging to religious dissenters or those associated with them, such as members of the Lunar Society - Joseph Priestley himself, Baskerville House (the home of John Ryland), William Hutton and others.
