Mining in Wales.- Mackworth (Sir Humphrey) The Case of Sir Humphry Mackworth, and of the Mine Adventurers, with respect to the Irregular Proceedings of several Justices of the Peace for the County of Glamorgan, only edition, 16pp., margins repaired, occasionally just touching text, pagination occasionally trimmed or obscured by repairs, library half morocco, [Goldsmiths' 4142; ESTC T20126], 8vo, 1705.

⁂ Rare. ESTC cites two different editions of this work appearing in the same year but with differences at the end; the other edition is paginated 15 [1], whereas this has text on p.16. The case relates to the mining of coal in the Neath area to be used for smelting copper and lead in competition with Sir Edward Mansel - Mackworth used wooden waggon-ways to transport the coal, with innovative use of sails on the waggons, which were thus propelled by the wind.
