Chemistry.- Thibaut (Pierre) The Art of Chymistry, as it is now practised, second English edition, woodcut initials and head-pieces, imprimatur f. trimmed and laid down onto pastedown, title a little creased and soiled and with bookplate to verso, H4 with some chipping and loss to margin, affecting catchword, occasional scattered spotting or light soiling, later half roan, rebacked, [Wing T892; cf. Duveen p.576 (first edition)], 8vo, by John Starkey, at the Miter near Temple-Bar in Fleetstreet, 1675.
⁂ Rare, we can only trace one other copy of this edition at auction and only a handful of copies of the first edition.
Provenance: John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute (1713-1792, bookplate).
